Education
Dr. Moore earned his doctorate in naturopathic medicine from the four-year accredited program at Bastyr University in San Diego, California, a leading institution for training natural healthcare professionals. For over three years, while seeing patients at the Bastyr University Clinic, he applied concepts of holistic and conventional medicine to treat the underlying cause of disease, manage symptoms, and improve quality of life. Dr. Moore’s clinical training was spent primarily on rotations for integrative cancer care, autoimmune disease, and holistic pain management. He also assisted with patient care at the University of California, San Diego Center for Integrative Medicine, learning to manage complex chronic pain with natural therapies.
Background & Inspiration
After his father was diagnosed with metastatic renal cell carcinoma in 2014, Dr. Moore went on a mission to find the most promising treatment strategies for advanced stage cancer patients. In pre-medical education, he relentlessly pursued to understand the nature of cancer, what contributes to its development, and vowed to improve treatment options for patients diagnosed in advanced stages. He carried this fervent obsession throughout his clinical training.
Dr. Moore’s father was stationed at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire in the 80’s before it was closed by the Environmental Protection Agency. It is one of many military bases that have been closed due to contaminated soil, sediment, groundwater, and surface water. Many veterans stationed at that base have developed cancers, particularly of the kidney, bladder, blood, and lymph. They found dangerous levels of jet fuel, volatile organic compounds, trichloroethylene, and PFAS in groundwater, petroleum- and solvent-contaminated soil, and heavy metals in sediment. Military personnel have the highest occupational risk of developing cancer.
Dr. Moore is passionate about increasing public awareness of carcinogen sources. Complete avoidance is not the goal and is not promoted, but small steps in chemical hygiene go a long way. The dose matters, and the body is miraculously resilient - it can regenerate and will heal if proper steps are taken to attenuate damage when exposures occur.
